Jim is a Pittsburgh born and bred native. Having grown up in Pittsburgh the second youngest of 5 kids to a nurse and a banker, Jim spent his early years learning about responsibility, hard work and the value of education. His grandparents, having successfully navigated the Great Depression passed on life lessons that today seem valuable once again; make sure you have a solid savings plan, don’t put all your eggs in one basket and be sure to keep family first. These tenants hold true today as they did 80 years ago.
Graduating from The College of Wooster with a degree in Economics, Jim began his thirty-year career as a lender working with a number of large national and international banks as well as a few smaller, local banks. By providing loans for homebuyers, many of whom were first timers, Jim came to appreciate how much a calm voice, a reassuring note and providing detailed, excellent service would enable the clients to obtain their homes with the least amount of stress and confusion as possible. Jim also took the time to educate his clients not only on the lending process, but also about their specific financial situation and how to take the next steps for financial security.
In 2008, during the height of the economic downturn, the words of his grandfather rang true and Jim diversified out of simply providing home loans and started SRT Solutions to provide lending options to commercial and business clients. Seeing a need for an alternative to the big bank lending, Jim established SRT to provide financing that the local banks would not entertain.
Jim lives in the South Hills of Pittsburgh with his wife of 30 years, Christine. He has three children, Sarah, Rachel and Tommy. Jim enjoys traveling, skiing, camping and Boy Scouts with his son.
